TEXAS FORWARD PARTY ENDORSES LIZ SUMTER GAJDOS FOR HAYS COUNTY JUDGE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HAYS COUNTY, TX - August 20, 2026 – The Texas Forward Party is proud to announce its official candidate endorsement of former Hays County Judge Liz Sumter Gajdos, who is running as an Independent in the 2026 race for Hays County Judge.

Sumter Gajdos, a 42-year resident of Hays County, brings a proven track record of public service, fiscal responsibility, and community-first leadership to the campaign. Her public service career includes serving as Hays County Judge, working with former Texas State Treasurer Ann Richards, and holding administrative roles across the City of Austin, the Department of Defense, and local county government.

Her decision to step forward as an Independent reflects her dedication to restoring trust, fiscal discipline, and collaborative governance to Hays County. Sumter Gajdos’s platform centers on key local challenges, including proactive growth management, debt and tax reduction, regional water protection, animal welfare, and eliminating court dysfunction through open government. A long-time advocate for natural resource conservation, she also founded the non-profit Wimberley Neighbors for Healthy Water.

"Having previously been a county judge, with over 42 years ingrained in Hays County and loving it as much as I do, we found a lot of support out there [for an Independent campaign like this]. This endorsement is going to mean the world," said Sumter Gajdos. She added that community support for pragmatic, independent leadership continues to grow across the county as voters look for local solutions over political gridlock.

"We couldn't be more honored to kick off our 2026 endorsement cycle with such a strong, pragmatic leader like Liz," said Brandon David, State Chair of the Texas Forward Party . "Liz is a proven public servant, aquifer protector, and bridge-builder who embodies building from the bottom up. We are excited to mobilize our support across the Capital Region for her candidacy."
